“Our love for animals can be traced back to 1999, when our Founders and CEOs, Steven and Jason Parker, were just 14 and 12 years of age. Steven and Jason started their own pet sitting business called K-9 Guardians Professional Pet Sitting because they loved dogs, and the thought of earning a few extra bucks at such a young age was exciting to them. Later on, the young entrepreneurs realized they wanted to make pet care their careers and, in 2005, K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel was born in Fanwood, NJ.”

As K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel prepares to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary in 2020, this year marks two decades of professional pet care by Steven and Jason Parker. If you check their company’s website, you’ll find a photo of the two of them in 1999 with their very first four-legged client, Mikey. Since then, there have been thousands of “Mikeys” whose care has been thanks to these brothers; they currently have 10 open locations and 30 more in development. The average size and guest count for a K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel location is about 8,000 square feet and approximately 150 dogs. Despite being in the business for twenty years, the Parkers have not grown complacent in their dedication to pet care. On October 1, 2019, K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel won the 2019 IBPSA Pet Care Business Excellence Franchise Award.

As described by Steven Parker, co-founder and co-CEO, K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotels are “multi-award winning and nationally renowned pet care facilities. Our state-of-the-art facilities pamper dogs with resort-style vacations and doggie daycare by combining home-like amenities with recreational activity. We offer cage free, luxury boarding and doggie daycare.”

A considerable part of their dedication to pet luxury is a dedication to pet health—K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotel requires PetAirapy be installed at each of its locations.

According to Parker, he first learned about PetAirapy “through Scott Learned, a nationally renowned pet care facility expert.” Parker says he chose PetAirapy “because I respect Scott very much and he recommended we install PetAirapy. He said it was the only product that had independent proof that it worked in a pet care environment. I installed PetAirapy to help prevent the spread of airborne virus and bacteria and am very happy with that decision.”
